Laundry is NOT Sweet!

July 21st, 2009

Doing laundry can be such a daunting and thankless task, and over the years it has become even more so for me. One of my children has been in the situation many times of not having a washer and dryer to now where they are not allowed to have washers and dryers. She isn’t in the situation of being able to afford the high costs of laundromats so she brings her clothes to my house and I end up doing them for her. I’d like her to do them but it takes so long to do her clothes that the kids about drive me crazy. So instead I do them for her in the relative peace and quiet of my home. This time I’ve been given three tall baskets of dirty laundry and due to the way that my laundry vent has been placed in this apartment complex, it takes twice as long to dry clothes as it should. Then of course I need to do our laundry too. It never ends!

Scared to Open Your Mouth?

July 21st, 2009

Invisalign

Invisalign

Another sweet thing that I’ve found online is an orange nj dentist named Dr. Rajal Patel who appears to do quite well when it comes to improving people’s smiles. This is an after image of someones teeth that he fixed. The person’s teeth were not that yellow to start with but there was a gap in the top front teeth. He fixed this gap and whitened the teeth so that now this person has a really nice smile and probably doesn’t mind showing it either. Dr. Patel does implants as well, and not just for people who have had their natural teeth removed, but for those who have lost some teeth. When it comes to the front teeth especially, having replacements that won’t come unglued or fall out is a bonus. Partials are okay but I have yet to hear of anyone who actually likes or wears their partial (other than my deceased Grandmother). This kind of dental work is nothing to sneer at, for being embarrassed about one’s teeth can really make a person miserable.

Sweet Pea Boutique

July 21st, 2009

I just found out that there is business here in Bowling Green, Kentucky called Sweet Pea Boutique. Their offerings are “exquisite contemporary wear, upscale maternity wear, and baby essentials. We pride ourselves in superior customer service along with impeccable fashions that include Bordeaux, Bejeweled, B & B Jewelry, Childish, Habitual Denim, Hatue Baby, Maternal America, Moody Mamas, Olian, Luna Luna, Paige Premium Denim, Trumpette, Timi & Lesli, and many more.” The reason I was so surprised to find this shop here is that I was searching for sweet things on google when I found this. As large as Bowling Green is, there are plenty of businesses that I haven’t heard of.

Sticky & Sweet Madonna Tour Cancelled

July 21st, 2009

While Madonna was on tour in Italy she learned of the stage collapse in Marseilles, France where she was slated to appear next. Two workers were killed and at least eight others were injured. She and two of her children visited the injured workers at the hospital but one can’t help wondering if the singing star will offer any kind of compensation to the families of the two men who were killed.

Safeguard Your Preppy Baby with the Best Equipment

July 21st, 2009

UPPAbaby Vista Stroller

UPPAbaby Vista Stroller

The UPPAbaby Vista stroller as shown here, is a very upscale, well-made stroller that is not going to be for everyone. For example, the price is a little prohibitive for most people, but even so there are people with less money who will want this because they want the best and safest equipment for their child and cost will not matter. That’s the way it should be for all of us, but even if that is the case, we can’t always buy what we know would be the best. This has a luxurious bassinet, reverse seat and easy fold features. The product rating on this stroller is 5/5, which means that all users love it. Visit Peppy Parents dot com to see this stroller and more of the baby items needed to make your baby’s environment as safe as possible. This uppababy Vista is the best of the best.

Finding Life Insurance that Won’t Break the Bank

July 21st, 2009

Lately I’ve been looking around for insurance and usually this involves getting a life insurance quote from various companies. Naturally I am doing this online because this is the easiest way to do it but not always the best way. However, I’m never sure what company to look for, so I visit sites that offer to find an insurance company for me. Wholesale Insurance dot net is one place that a person could look, but not if they use tobacco. They have no classes for tobacco users, and they have four different categories for people looking for life insurance. These classes state things like minor health problems, length of time not smoking, cholesterol levels, blood pressure, cardiac conditions etc as qualifiers. A few days ago I was looking around for some life insurance for my husband and I don’t know if I dreamed this or if it were real, but the figures were up close to $800. It really pays to look around and get quotes from different sources. But here’s one you can start with.

Oh, Blog Me!

July 20th, 2009

What’s up with all of the businesses using blog style now for their websites? My gripe with blogs is that they waste an awful lot of the page that we see on our screen. I try to find some that use up the whole screen, but the last ones I’ve installed are shorter. Problem is you can’t find a pretty nice looking blog that isn’t the small type. And although I do like the dark themes I don’t think it makes reading text easy.

Blue Cheese Chickenburgers

July 20th, 2009

This sounds like something interesting. Chicken burgers are a welcome change from hamburgers, don’t you think? I know that my family is really sick of all of the fast food restaurants. After a while they are no longer fun to eat at. And I can’t remember the last time that our order, simple as it is, is ever done right. Oh well. Here’s the recipe.

POINTS® Value: 6

Servings: 4

Preparation Time: 15 min

Cooking Time: 10 min

Level of Difficulty: Easy

These burgers are Buffalo chicken wing knock-offs. They’re brushed with a spicy BBQ sauce and then topped with crumbled blue cheese. Amazing flavor.

Ingredients

2 spray(s) cooking spray

1/4 cup(s) barbecue sauce

1 1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce, or to taste

1 pound(s) uncooked ground chicken breast

1/2 cup(s) scallion(s), sliced

1/4 cup(s) celery, chopped

1/4 cup(s) dried bread crumbs, plain-variety

2 tsp minced garlic

1/2 tsp table salt

4 item(s) mixed-grain hamburger roll(s)

2 cup(s) romaine lettuce, shredded

1 large tomato(es), cut into 8 slices

2 tbsp blue cheese, crumbled

Instructions

* Off heat, coat a grill or grill pan with cooking spray; preheat to medium-high.

* In a small bowl, combine barbecue sauce and hot pepper sauce. In a medium bowl, combine chicken, 1 tablespoon of barbecue sauce mixture, scallion, celery, bread crumbs, garlic and salt. Using wet hands (to prevent mixture from sticking), form chicken mixture into four 1/2-inch-thick patties; brush top of burgers with some remaining barbecue sauce mixture.

* Place burgers on grill, sauce side down; brush tops of burgers with remaining sauce. Grill, turning once, until cooked through, about 10 minutes. Lightly toast open-faced buns on grill during last minute of cooking.

* To serve, place 4 bun bottoms on each of 4 plates. Top each with 1/2 cup of shredded lettuce, 2 tomato slices, a burger, 1/2 tablespoon of cheese and a bun top (cheese will melt a little from hot burger). Yields 1 burger per serving.

Notes * If you like your food really spicy, give the lettuce and tomato a few shots of hot sauce. Switching to light hamburger buns reduces each burger to a POINTS value of 5.

Show Her the Meaning of True Love’s Devotion

July 16th, 2009

Many times a person wants to show their love and often it doesn’t feel as though we can really do this, for nothing we can think of is ever as strong as the emotion of love. But some heart pendant jewelry can sometimes communicate the depth of emotions for someone. This might not work for all women, but I think the majority of us would be overwhelmed if our man came home with an unexpected gift of jewelry. The best time to do is is when it’s least expected. Wives generally know that they’re going to get gifts on certain days, but when it’s a gift on no special day, it really means so much more.
