Obtaining Social Security Disability
August 18th, 2009In 2005 I applied for social security disability while living in North Carolina, but was turned down. While thinking about filing the appeal, my family moved to Kentucky. I thought you had to reapply in a different state, so I didn’t file the appeal and I lost thousands of dollars of past payments. Well, this is absolutely normal for me to do something like that; I am so ignorant about many things. But had I gone ahead with my appeal, I would have sought out an attorney, because that is usually the only way a lot of people can be successful in their applications. Because funds are so low in Social Security, I’ve heard that they turn almost everybody down the first time they apply. A company called Allsup has a 98% success rate with getting people approved. They also have 25 years experience doing so. Federal law stipulates how much money an attorney will receive for helping you get approved and all of them do not ask for money up front. They don’t get paid unless you win, and this is a great motivator for them. Good Luck with your efforts and don’t give up.
