Department Stores Need to Wake Up – Sizes need to be updated
July 15th, 2010Department stores are still using stick thin models for their clothing. Case in point: In the local paper today JCPenney had a circular advertising an upcoming sale. In this circular the models for the teens and misses sizes are thin to the point of being emaciated. JCPenney needs to look at the public a little longer. The majority of Americans, are unfortunately, overweight, and this includes teenagers. This includes me too. When I look at their ads, whether in the paper or in their catalog, I want to see things modeled that will look good on someone my size. The girls in their circular actually looked emaciated. Their arms were like sticks. This is totally unnecessary and unattractive. These stores need to open their eyes and start offering the public stylish clothing that looks good on all sizes.
