Clear It Up

April 27th, 2010

Acne treatments are  plenty and in the forefront of almost all kinds of ads on the Internet.  That makes for a lot of confusion when someone is interested in using it.  But if you use acne treatment reviews you can read up on the ingredients and view the users support reviews to see which one may be right for you.  I know if it were me looking for some help that I would want to find the best one available.  And being the best doesn’t necessarily mean the cheapest.

Medicare Difficult to Understand

February 18th, 2010

Do you have Medicare?  Do you understand it?  While working in a hospital doing regular insurance billing I was asked to switch over to handling Medicare.  I didn’t care to.  But even then I had to deal with Medicare and I have to admit that I never did understand it.  Now I am at the beginning of getting my Medicare, not because I am old enough, but because I qualify for it because of a disability.  My spouse is about to go on disability through his job but will also apply for regular disability, and although I could stay on his health insurance, don’t see much sense in paying for Medicare and health insurance through his work.  The problem is that I have to look for a prescription plan through Medicare and then the fact that even then my medicines will not all be covered.

Medicare has what they like to call a ‘coverage gap’, where they won’t pay for medicines, although the beneficiary (Medicare recipient) pays for the premiums.  Anyway, once you AND your prescription insurance plan have reached the total payments of a bit over $2,000.00; they won’t pay again until the total cost of medications reach just over $4,500.   Hm, does this sound good?  Makes me wonder what all the people on Medicare are doing to be able to afford that gap.  Do they just give up taking their medicine for the rest of the year?  It’s true that you can get ‘extra help’ but that isn’t for everyone and those who are eligible have a really low income.  The extra help is just for the prescription plan premiums, not help in being able to afford medicine during the coverage gap.

I recall my Mother telling me that one of her prescriptions, the top antibiotic, cost $500 and she telling my sister not to buy it.  She was in her coverage gap period and she was not about to pay that much for one prescription.  I’ve got to find out how much my medicines cost for one year and see how long I’ll have to go off of my medicine.  Although, being bipolar doesn’t mean not taking medications will kill me, it might drive my family insane instead.

Americans are FAT!

August 18th, 2009

Being an American makes me very proud.  However it does not make me proud when I leave my home and go out in the public because I’m overweight.  I also feel disgusted when I am out and see how many other people have become obese.  This phenomenon is everywhere you go and I can’t help but wonder what has come over us.  For one thing, our values have become such that all of our family get-togethers are focused around food, while they really should be focused elsewhere.  How many of us give thanks when we are together, to give praise where it belongs?  I am ashamed to say that ours does not.  But there is hope for all of us and it doesn’t involve having our bellies cut open, our stomachs stapled or squeezed.  It’s called a diet.  We can go on a food restricted diet or a diet where we watch the calories we consume, or even points, such as in the case of the Weight Watchers program.  But we also can use top diet pills which we can find not only in local stores, but also online.  Visit Diet Pills dot org to gether more information on which types of pills that may be correct for you.

Sticky & Sweet Madonna Tour Cancelled

July 21st, 2009

While Madonna was on tour in Italy she learned of the stage collapse in Marseilles, France where she was slated to appear next.  Two workers were killed and at least eight others were injured.  She and two of her children visited the injured workers at the hospital but one can’t help wondering if the singing star will offer any kind of compensation to the families of the two men who were killed.

Disability Claims are on the Rise

March 30th, 2009

Surely people might realize by now that disability claims have risen exponentially in the past several years.  The reason behind this has to do with the amount of baby boomers who are getting older as well as advances of knowledge within the medical world.   Years ago people did not know anything about manic depression, schizophrenia or other mental conditions and if it was spoken of, it was in hushed tones and knowing looks.  But disability insurance is just one of those parts of life that are so important to the lives of the American people.  These people would otherwise be unable to afford housing, food, medicine and other necessities, let alone some of the little perks that make life worthwhile.  I receive disability and if were stopped or even dropped down, once my husband was unable to work any more I doubt that we would be able to afford just the regular cost of living expenses.  I never wanted to be in this position, but when we were young we couldn’t see ahead and didn’t realize how important it was.  When we did realize it, too much time had passed to really have time to save much before retirement comes around.  And because the Social Security Administration routinely turns people down when they apply for disability, I highly recommend consulting with an attorney for help in acquiring it.  Years ago my Father applied because he was unable to work at all due to a very bad heart condition.  I read the report that the doctor had written about it and believe me when I say I was thoroughly alarmed as I had not realized how bad off he was.  They turned him down!  That was a shock.  It took him either three or five years to get his, so obtaining help with your denial is a must.
