Obtaining an Online Degree Couldn’t Be Better

February 18th, 2010

At Western Governors University as with many others, you have the opportunity to apply for financial assistance and in some avenues that you would not normally think of, such as AARP.  Some specific degrees are often offered scholarships.  And when it is time to further your career, online degree programs are a definite option.  And when you do not have to travel in order to obtain a degree, an online university  is where you will want to look.  Western Governors University is a non-profit university, and has been noted in Time Magazine as the best relatively cheap university you’ve never heard of.  Grab a degree that is well valued by employers, but the flexible learning allows students to learn at their own pace.  Of note are their Teacher’s College, College of Business, College of Information Technology and College of Health Professions.  These are all offered in licensure, bachelors, masters or graduate degrees.

Facebook Games

February 18th, 2010

Do you happen to use Facebook?  It’s been around for quite some time, but the fact is that us older folks haven’t been doing it that long.  The kids go to school and learn computers from the beginning now, but people in their 50’s have not all been too familiar with their computers and these online communities.  There are so many social networks that it’s impossible to keep track of them all.  Such as Twitter.  I’m listed on it but never saw much use for it.  Mostly I have been interested in playing the FB games such as Farm Town, Farmville and Cafe World.  I played a few others but mostly have settled down to those three, and lately I have been fooling around working on this computer, so I haven’t been on much in the past three days.  What does surprise me is that I don’t really miss it so much.

Sweet Prices on LCD TV’s

February 15th, 2010

I love it when I visit a site and immediately get a box there that says it’sit is from a live   agent.  That lets me know that they value my business enough to arrange that, so I take a longer look at what they are offering.  The Source has a lot of tvs on sale, with specials all of the time.  It’s well worth your time to visit them.  You can order and pay online and what could be easier?

Becoming a Medical Assistant – Online

October 3rd, 2009

Well now that so many businesses are closing, or have closed; here is a suggestion for a new career.  Yes it requires education, but the benefits far outweigh the small cost involved.  You could be a Medical Assistant by attending medical assistant training school and did I mention, you can do almost all of it online?  This diploma program has a clinical portion, which means you must work at a specific place under supervision.  Of course, you wouldn’t want it any other way.  Go to Allied Health Institute dot edu for more information.

Halloween Invitations

Halloween Invitations

It is not too soon to start considering your  Halloween party invitations and you can find some really original ones online at The Party Starts Here dot com.  This is an example of some of what they have; I thought this one was really cute.  You definitely can’t find anything special in the way of invitations locally.  I never have anyway.  The cost for the one shown is $17 for a set of 10.  Minimum order is two sets.  Take a look.

Scared to Open Your Mouth?

<p>Invisalign</p>

Invisalign

Another sweet thing that I’ve found online is an orange nj dentist named Dr. Rajal Patel who appears to do quite well when it comes to improving people’s smiles.  This is an after image of someones teeth that he fixed.  The person’s teeth were not that yellow to start with but there was a gap in the top front teeth.  He fixed this gap and whitened the teeth so that now this person has a really nice smile and probably doesn’t mind showing it either.  Dr. Patel does implants as well, and not just for people who have had their natural teeth removed, but for those who have lost some teeth.  When it comes to the front teeth especially, having replacements that won’t come unglued or fall out is a bonus.  Partials are okay but I have yet to hear of anyone who actually likes or wears their partial (other than my deceased Grandmother).  This kind of dental work is nothing to sneer at, for being embarrassed about one’s teeth can really make a person miserable.

Finding Life Insurance that Won’t Break the Bank

July 21st, 2009

Lately I’ve been looking around for insurance and usually this involves getting a life insurance quote from various companies.  Naturally I am doing this online because this is the easiest way to do it but not always the best way.  However, I’m never sure what company to look for, so I visit sites that offer to find an insurance company for me.  Wholesale Insurance dot net is one place that a person could look, but not if they use tobacco.  They have no classes for tobacco users, and they have four different categories for people looking for life insurance.  These classes state things like minor health problems, length of time not smoking, cholesterol levels, blood pressure, cardiac conditions etc as qualifiers.  A few days ago I was looking around for some life insurance for my husband and I don’t know if I dreamed this or if it were real, but the figures were up close to $800.  It really pays to look around and get quotes from different sources.  But here’s one you can start with.

A Very Good Job in the Medical Field

July 5th, 2009

In the past I worked at a hospital insurance section but was always interested in coding.  One of the reasons for this is that you can do this kind of work at home.  The Allied Health Institute offers online medical coding training courses which take nine months to complete.  You do the work online which is a relief for many whose home life is just too hectic to run out every night of the week.  This particular job is one well worth investing in.  Contact Allied Health Institute to find out more information.

Get Pet Supplies and Vaccinations Downright Cheap!

July 1st, 2009

If you need some pet supplies, including vaccinations and things like the Coolaroo pet bed, you can find those at Jeffers pet dot com.  They have added a pet pharmacy so that you can buy pharmaceuticals right from them online.  The Coolaroo pet bed is made of canvas and is up off of the ground so that your pet will not get dirt on it.  These are the types of beds that are suggested by animal shelters everywhere.  Trot on over and look at all the different items they have.  Their prices are pretty good too.

Why Are Insurance Prices So Different?

July 1st, 2009

Did you know that you can get an auto insurance price quote online?  2Insure4Less dot com is a company offering quotes on ten different kinds of insurance.  Want to know why there is such a discrepancy between insurance costs from company to company?  You can find out there as well.  They really have some good explanations for why that is, and I wanted to know that one myself.  Click on the icon to get a quote for whichever type of insurance you want a quote on.
